Men's watches do not usually undergo huge changes from year to year however 2019 has been interesting for any watch fans we have had some trends that seem to pointing to a dramatic change from the current style of watches. There are two trends that all watch fans should be aware of for 2019.
Retro Is Back
The biggest trend in watches we have seen this year is that retro watches are back. What does this mean since lets face it retro means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. When it comes to watches it looks like the watch designers are making their mens watch look or at least have the style of watches from the mid 40's to the late 70's.
We are currently seeing high end watch makers going back to take another look at and re-image the designs they once sold but given a modern flare. So while the look may be a throwback the internals will use modern technology to make sure these watches are up to date with the latest and best materials and manufacturing. Besides just a retro look and design we are seeing a few retro colors coming back in style as well.
The one huge color that has been really become popular the last few years and certainly continues this year is blue. The blue face has continued its popularity among fans, collectors and designers. The other color that certainly surprised many was the introduction of the salmon colored faces. This looks like a trend that will continue into the future.
The Automobile Is Not Just About Driving
More and more manufacturers are dipping their toe every year into the custom made watches for an auto-maker. We have seen tie-ins with Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche to name but a few and that trend is not slowing down at all. Instead more watch designers are making tie-ins a top priority. This is not just a designer thing at all as the watches are popular among buyers. This watches bear in many respects a lot of the same design elements that can be found in the cars that they share the name with.
These trends in some cases have already been here and 2019 is indeed showing us that the future for men's watches will prove to be both fascinating and highly sought after.
